Tractor-trailers Rear-ended on Interstate 10

When one thinks of truck collisions with cars on the highway a common occurrence is a truck tailgating, or following too closely, and rear ending a car.

A recent I-10 crash points out that trucks can also be rear-ended by other trucks. It was reported that the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed on July 11, 2015 after a fatal rear-end collision, involving four commercial vehicles, near Quartzite.

It was reported that a commercial tractor trailer failed to slow down for the congested traffic related to a wrong-way fatal collision. DPS stated that the tractor trailer rear-ended another tractor trailer, this caused two other commercial vehicles with trailers to be rear-ended.

The driver of the commercial vehicle who failed to slow down was killed.
