Postal worker injured in collision with SUV

The roadways are not only a place for residents and passers-by to travel on to get to their destination. For some it is where their job takes place. Some Arizona residents utilize a vehicle and the roadway for their occupation and come in contact with numerous vehicles on a daily basis. This can increase the risks associated with their occupation and could make a car accident more likely to occur on the job. This makes it especially important for drivers to be aware of vehicles utilized on the job because some make frequent stops.

Authorities recently responded to a serious accident in Avondale. The accident involved an SUV and a postal truck. The two vehicles collided near the intersection of 107th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. According to preliminary reports, the driver of the SUV crossed the centerline causing the SUV to collide with the postal worker’s vehicle on the passenger’s side. Because postal workers sit on the opposite side of the vehicle than the average vehicle, the SUV struck the side of the automobile on which the postal worker sits.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident, the postal worker was reported to have suffered serious injuries. No injuries were reported to the driver of the SUV at this time. The accident is still under investigation, but it is presumed at this time that the driver of the SUV caused the accident although no citations have been issued thus far. This could result in the driver being liable for any injuries or damages caused by the accident.

The injured postal worker could file a personal injury claim. This could result in compensation that could assist the injured with any financial burdens that resulted from the collision. Often these expenses include medical bills, rehabilitation, lost wages, damages and pain and suffering.

When a person is injured in an automobile collision, they often need to take time off to recover. This is especially true when the person is injured on-the-job. Recovering lost wages and medical costs are often important, and an injured party who is unsure of their options should seek advice from a qualified professional.
