Fatal pedestrian crash in Arizona

The unfortunate occurrence of a multi-vehicle collision will not only directly affect those involved, but those nearby the accident site could become involved in the accident as well. If the crash occurs in an area where pedestrians are present, individuals walking or standing near the accident site could be harmed by the crash. This is why drivers should not only be attentive of where they are driving, but should also be aware of their entire surroundings.

A recent multi-vehicle collision involving a police cruiser in Glendale turned into an auto-pedestrian accident. The fatal accident happened on 67th Avenue near the intersection of Glendale Avenue. The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. when a police officer was responding to a call. Preliminary reports indicate that a white van traveled in front of the police car and the two collided.

The impact of the collision caused the van to travel towards a sidewalk where two pedestrians, a male and a female, were located. The female pedestrian was thrown into the parking lot of an adjacent business, where she was then struck by another vehicle. She was transported to the hospital where she later died. The male pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the van suffered serious injuries and the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time. However, when fault is determined, a driver could face liabilities. A wrongful death lawsuit and personal injury lawsuit could be filed. Compensation could be awarded to cover expenses associated with the fatal accident.

A fatal collision is often a difficult event to cope with. Those affected by the crash due to injury or the loss of a loved one might find it more challenging to cope with the incident if there are also dealing with financial burdens from the accident. Getting compensation could help alleviate these burdens.
